Kathi Hannford suggested the script "pt2poly.ave".
Sani Takwim suggested the X Tools avenue script.  Udai
Pradhan provided a script entitled "GPS2Shape.ave".
Thanks to all.

Prior to receiving these suggestions, I found the
script asctoshp.ave which did the job nicely.
